Does your Garage Door Squeak? Here’s how to fix it yourself!

My garage door squeaks

Another Garage Door complaint we hear often is: “My door squeaks when it opens and closes”

Springs, rollers and hinges can squeak and be noisy. This is caused by normal use and does not necessarily indicate a problem. Use a spray-on lubricant specifically for garage doors. Do not spray WD-40 on your garage door parts. WD-40 is for rust-destroying and degreasing. Instead of WD-40, choose a silicone spray or white lithium grease to lubricate those moving parts.

If the noise persists, call a professional garage door installer for service.

Or, if you don’t want to concern about noisy doors, we’d suggest a Roll Up Door – Ultra quiet motor produces around 61 decibels of noise, which is that of an average conversation. A conventional garage door produces almost 75 decibels of noise!
